ECC want to know what they should prioritise in the 2024/25 budget
Essex County Council says: We want you to tell us how best we should spend our £2 billion budget in 2024 to 2025.
Every year, we spend your money on delivering essential services, invest in infrastructure and in economic growth. In this way, we aim to meet Essex's needs in the short and long term.
We have a positive track record of strong financial management. However, like all local authorities, we are facing challenges. This is due to high inflation, rising interest rates and the demands of an ever-increasing population.
We have some difficult decisions to make and we need to understand what matters to our communities. This will help us to prioritise our resources.
This consultation is your opportunity to share what's important to you and your family. We also want to know what you think about the big issues and challenges that lie ahead for Essex.
Your response will help to inform our final budget plans. The deadline for responses is Sunday 3 December - click the link above for the form.
